The Discrepancy and Gain Coefficients of Scrambled Digital Nets

    Get PDF
AbstractDigital sequences and nets are among the most popular kinds of low discrepancy sequences and sets and are often used for quasi-Monte Carlo quadrature rules. Several years ago Owen proposed a method of scrambling digital sequences and recently Faure and Tezuka have proposed another method. This article considers the discrepancy of digital nets under these scramblings. The first main result of this article is a formula for the discrepancy of a scrambled digital (λ, t, m, s)-net in base b with n=λbm points that requires only O(n) operations to evaluate. The second main result is exact formulas for the gain coefficients of a digital (t, m, s)-net in terms of its generator matrices. The gain coefficients, as defined by Owen, determine both the worst-case and random-case analyses of quadrature error

The truncated Milstein method for stochastic differential equations with commutative noise

    Get PDF
Inspired by the truncated Euler-Maruyama method developed in Mao (J. Comput. Appl. Math. 2015), we propose the truncated Milstein method in this paper. The strong convergence rate is proved to be close to 1 for a class of highly non-linear stochastic differential equations with commutative noise. Numerical examples are given to illustrate the theoretical results

The planting varieties and qualities of 154 new high-quality paddy samples harvested in Guangxi in 2018 were investigated and analyzed in this paper. The results showed that abundant resources of high quality paddy varieties were planted in Guangxi, such as bai-xiang, silk fragrance, wild fragrance, oil percentage and silk seedlings. The food quality scores of the collected paddy samples all meet the requirement of grade III standard (≥70 points) specified in GB/T 17891—2017, 92.2% of the paddy samples could meet the requirement of grade II standard (≥80 points), and 9.7% of the paddy samples could meet the requirement of grade I standard (≥90 points). According to the requirements of high quality paddy amylose content (dry basis) range (14.0%~24.0%), 70.8% of the paddy samples could meet the requirements, and 29.2% of the total number of samples (45 paddy samples) was less than 14.0%, which did not meet the requirements of the standard, but 38 paddy samples of them could meet the requirement of grade II standard (≥80 points) specified in GB/T 17891—2017. The survey results showed that the whole quality of the newly harvested high quality paddy in Guangxi was excellent

The title complex, [Cu2(C13H11F2N6O)2](ClO4)2, which was hydrothermally synthesized, contains a binuclear copper cluster (2 symmetry) with a Cu2O2 rhombus [Cu—O = 1.927 (2) Å] formed by donation of two O atoms from two chelate rings. The tridentate function of each ligand is completed by two N atoms coordinated to the two CuII atoms [Cu—N = 1.933 (2) Å]. The separation distance of two CuII atoms in a cluster is 2.988 (1) Å. The dihedral angle between the six-membered chelate rings is 2.13 (9)°. The perchlorate counter-anion is disordered over two sites in a 0.58 (10):0.42 (10) ratio

<p>Abstract</p> <p>Background</p> <p>Fuzheng Huayu recipe (FZHY), a compound of Chinese herbal medicine, was reported to improve liver function and fibrosis in patients with hepatitis B virus infection. However, its effect on nutritional fibrosing steatohepatitis is unclear. We aimed to elucidate the role and molecular mechanism of FZHY on this disorder in mice.</p> <p>Methods</p> <p>C57BL/6 J mice were fed with methionine-choline deficient (MCD) diet for 8 weeks to induce fibrosing steatohepatitis. FZHY and/or heme oxygenase-1 (HO-1) chemical inducer (hemin) were administered to mice, respectively. The effect of FZHY was assessed by comparing the severity of hepatic injury, levels of hepatic lipid peroxides, activation of hepatic stellate cells (HSCs) and the expression of oxidative stress, inflammatory and fibrogenic related genes.</p> <p>Results</p> <p>Mice fed with MCD diet for 8 weeks showed severe hepatic injury including hepatic steatosis, necro-inflammation and fibrosis. Administration of FZHY or hemin significantly lowered serum levels of alanine aminotransferase, aspartate aminotransferase, reduced hepatic oxidative stress and ameliorated hepatic inflammation and fibrosis. An additive effect was observed in mice fed MCD supplemented with FZHY or/and hemin. These effects were associated with down-regulation of pro-oxidative stress gene cytochrome P450 2E1, up-regulation of anti-oxidative gene HO-1; suppression of pro-inflammation genes tumor necrosis factor alpha and interleukin-6; and inhibition of pro-fibrotic genes including α-smooth muscle actin, transforming growth factor beta 1, collagen type I (Col-1) and Col-3.</p> <p>Conclusions</p> <p>Our study demonstrated the protective role of FZHY in ameliorating nutritional fibrosing steatohepatitis. The effect was mediated through regulating key genes related to oxidative stress, inflammation and fibrogenesis.</p

Downregulation of Fat Mass and Obesity Associated (FTO) Promotes the Progression of Intrahepatic Cholangiocarcinoma

Intrahepatic cholangiocarcinoma (ICC) ranks as the second most malignant type of primary liver cancer with a high degree of incidence and a very poor prognosis. Fat mass and obesity-associated protein (FTO) functions as an eraser of the RNA m6A modification, but its roles in ICC tumorigenesis and development remain unknown. We showed here that the protein level of FTO was downregulated in clinical ICC samples and cell lines and that FTO expression was inversely correlated with the expression of CA19-9 and micro-vessel density (MVD). A Kaplan-Meier survival analysis showed that a low expression of FTO predicted poor prognosis in ICC. in vitro, decreased endogenous expression of FTO obviously reduced apoptosis of ICC cells. Moreover, FTO suppressed the anchorage-independent growth and mobility of ICC cells. Through mining the database, FTO was found to regulate the integrin signaling pathway, inflammation signaling pathway, epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) signaling pathway, angiogenesis, and the pyrimidine metabolism pathway. RNA decay assay showed that oncogene TEAD2 mRNA stability was impaired by FTO. In addition, the overexpression of FTO suppressed tumor growth in vivo. In conclusion, our study demonstrated the critical roles of FTO in ICC

An Updated Search of Steady TeV γ\gamma-Ray Point Sources in Northern Hemisphere Using the Tibet Air Shower Array

Using the data taken from Tibet II High Density (HD) Array (1997 February-1999 September) and Tibet-III array (1999 November-2005 November), our previous northern sky survey for TeV γ\gamma-ray point sources has now been updated by a factor of 2.8 improved statistics. From 0.00.0^{\circ} to 60.060.0^{\circ} in declination (Dec) range, no new TeV γ\gamma-ray point sources with sufficiently high significance were identified while the well-known Crab Nebula and Mrk421 remain to be the brightest TeV γ\gamma-ray sources within the field of view of the Tibet air shower array. Based on the currently available data and at the 90% confidence level (C.L.), the flux upper limits for different power law index assumption are re-derived, which are approximately improved by 1.7 times as compared with our previous reported limits.Comment: This paper has been accepted by hepn
